At PrepTestAI, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We keep it simple and don't sell your data — ever.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Supabase authentication — we never see your plain-text password).
We track which questions you answer, whether your answers are correct, timestamps of activity, and your progress through exam categories. This data powers the adaptive learning features that make PrepTestAI effective.
If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI compliance.
We may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, and general location for security and analytics purposes. We do not build advertising profiles from this data.
Your quiz progress, streak data, XP, and accuracy scores are used to personalize your study sessions and surface your weak topics.
We share your email with Stripe to manage your subscription. We may send you receipts and billing-related communications.
Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us identify which questions need improvement and which features are most valuable.
We may send you product updates, study tips, or account-related emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
Your data is stored on Supabase, which uses PostgreSQL databases hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication tokens, and regular security reviews. We do not store passwords in plain text.
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
PrepTestAI does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.
We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate PrepTestAI: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Google (AI question generation). Each is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of PrepTestAI users.
You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@preptestai.com.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This permanently removes your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
You can update your name and email address in your account settings at any time.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email we send, or by emailing hello@preptestai.com.
If you are located in the European Union or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. Contact us at hello@preptestai.com to exercise these rights.
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and remember your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand general usage patterns. Any analytics we use are configured to anonymize IP addresses and not build individual user profiles.
PrepTestAI is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website before the changes take effect. Continued use of PrepTestAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at hello@preptestai.com. We aim to respond to all privacy inquiries within 48 hours.
